Bassmaster Elites Coming to Lake St. Clair Again!

Update to Tournament Dates!  As of June 6, 2019….

Toyota Angler of the Year revised

There will be a two-day travel allotment Monday and Tuesday after Oklahoma to get to St. Clair. We encourage all of you to work with your sponsors at the expo in Oklahoma if possible.

Bassmaster practice on Lake St. Clair 2019 Angler of the Year Award will start on Wednesday, September 25, and continue through Friday, September 27 during normal daylight hours as specified in Elite Series rules. Saturday the 28th will be an off day/fan day at Metro Beach Park, and that’s when we will have our usual tournament briefing and marshal get-together.

Angler of the Year competition will be Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 29-Oct. 1) with takeoff at 8 a.m. and check-in first flight at 4 p.m. (all Eastern times). Reminder: All 50 anglers compete all three days at AOY. Takeoff order determined by AOY points Day 1 inverted on Day 2. Day 3 determined by weights from first two days with standard Day 3, two flights, holding the second flight at takeoff.

B.A.S.S. officials announced Lake St. Clair will host their season ending fishing tournament on Sept. 26-29 (date has changed see above detail). The tournament with a $1 million total purse will determine the 2019 Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year winner.

As in previous years, these Elite Series professional fisherman will launch and weigh-in at Lake St. Clair Metropark – Harrison Township with festival, vendors, food & drink for the fans.

According to B.A.S.S. – “Anglers will compete Thursday and Friday, Sept. 26-27, and then have an off-day built around interaction with fishing fans on Saturday, and conclude the championship on Sunday. Saturday’s activities will include an Outdoors Expo with merchandise, food and drink vendors and sponsor promotions. Elite anglers will provide seminars revealing their best bass fishing techniques, and they’ll be available to sign autographs, mingle with fans and talk fishing.”

NEW for this event here…. Anglers will be allowed to fish Lake St. Clair and all rivers, creeks and canals connected to the lake.  However, anglers will not be allowed to travel south of the Ambassador Bridge at the Detroit River or north of the Blue Water Bridge into Lake Huron as in previous years according to B.A.S.S. Tournament Director Trip Weldon.
