Michigan’s Tallest Flag to be Lake St. Clair Landmark – Update

Update – $21,000 raised for Michigan’s Tallest Flag to be new Lake St. Clair Landmark … need to reach $33,000 to place the order for a Memorial Day dedication.

As you may recall from a previous post and article in the 2016 Lake St. Clair Guide, we lost the brown water tower, a long time landmark at the foot of New Baltimore on Lake St. Clair’s Anchor Bay.

The New Baltimore Lions Club has a fund raiser to replace the tower with a 160′ flag pole and the flag will be 30′ X 60′.  To kick off the fund raiser, the Lions Club dedicated $10,000.    They are also going to other community groups to gain support.

The goal is to have this new “landmark” flag for us boaters dedicated on Memorial day in May.     Any and all donations to help will be appreciated.  The goal is $65,000.   All extra money will go to providing extra back-up flag replacements.
